What happens to a Friday evening in Angeline once the stage at Wild Thyme Café & Market goes quiet?
The question matters this week because the series ends tomorrow night. Every Friday this fall, the café has run live music from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. That gave the neighborhood a weekly place to gather. For the rest of 2026, the community calendar has just two dated events, one in November and one in December. Fridays in between will mostly happen outside the gate. That arrangement lasts until the next amenity center opens, and Metro Development Group's own timeline puts that a year out.
The series closes Oct. 30
The final show is the Erika Najibo Duo on Friday, Oct. 30, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., per the Wild Thyme Café events page. The café describes Najibo as a Venezuelan singer-songwriter known for powerful vocals across Tampa Bay. It calls this duo set the one "closing out the series."
The two Fridays before it set the pattern. Gil Lozada played Oct. 23 with hits from the fifties to today. On Oct. 16, Jeremy James brought a one-man show the café says draws on five decades of music. That listing was marked open to the public. The format stayed the same every week: a Friday, a three-hour window, one performer, and the café as the venue.
That format has no direct replacement on the calendar. The events listed after Oct. 30 are not weekly. Each is a single larger event, and each has its own rules about who can attend.
Two dates are left on the 2026 calendar
| Date | Event | Who can attend | Where | What's planned |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sunday, Nov. 8, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. | Step Right Up: Fall Festival | Angeline residents only, RSVP required | Angeline | Carnival games, inflatables, petting zoo, pony rides, food trucks, DJ |
| Friday, Dec. 18, 5 to 9 p.m. | Discovery Days at Angeline: 2026 Holiday Edition | Open to neighbors, families and visitors | Angeline Welcome Center, 11725 Angeline Blvd. | Local makers, Santa, complimentary gift wrapping, festive music |
The Fall Festival follows the format of Angeline's other resident events this year. RSVP happens through the Vantaca portal by opening the event email. Per the café's listing, the event is "exclusively for Angeline residents." The lineup is long: carnival games, inflatables, a petting zoo, pony rides, food trucks, a DJ, a balloon twister, face painting, a juggler and a lemonade stand. One detail to check: the listing's header shows a Nov. 8 to Nov. 9 range, while the description gives 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8. The portal email is the place to confirm the date before you plan around it.
This fall's earlier resident events used the same model. Thursday Night Lights on Oct. 8 was a Bucs vs. Cowboys tailgate and watch party with food trucks. The Summer Chill Down on Sept. 25 had bounce houses, a DJ, a stilt walker and a juggler. Both were resident-only and RSVP-based, and each was a one-time event.
The December market is open to everyone. Discovery Days at Angeline: 2026 Holiday Edition runs Friday, Dec. 18, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Angeline Welcome Center on Angeline Boulevard. Tampa Bay Markets hosts it with Metro Development Group as part of the Tampa Bay Markets 2026 Holiday Event Series. The listing promises handcrafted goods and gourmet treats from local makers, plus complimentary gift wrapping, a visit with Santa and festive music. It is also the year's last Friday evening event on Angeline's own grounds. It runs an hour longer than the music series did, and visitors from outside the community can come.
So between Oct. 30 and Dec. 18 there are six Fridays. None of them has a listed event inside Angeline.
Fridays in between move to Focus Loop
The nearest recent addition for those Fridays is at The Hub at Bexley in Land O' Lakes. Stillwaters Tavern opened its second location there this summer at 16729 Focus Loop. Tampa Bay Beacons reported the opening in a July 27, 2026 profile. The first location opened in St. Petersburg in 2014.
According to the Beacons, owner Thomas Sanborn personally picks the Maker's Mark barrels that become Hogfish, a whiskey made for Stillwaters and poured at both locations. The bar runs whiskey flights and up to 20 beers on tap. The kitchen, led by chef Joanne Charlton, serves comfort food with a Creole touch. Cajun-seasoned popcorn comes to the table in place of bread. The menu also has fried green tomatoes, burgers, steaks, local fish, hushpuppies and shrimp and grits. The paper describes the room as down-to-earth Key West with an upscale finish, decorated with work by local artists.
Stillwaters sits next to BelleBrava, the Italian restaurant the same company, 2B Hospitality Group, opened at Bexley in 2024. With two sit-down restaurants side by side from one operator, Focus Loop works as a single stop. One table can fall through and the other is a few steps away.
The gap lasts into 2027
The reason Fridays leave the gate for a while comes down to construction. On Sept. 1, Metro Development Group representatives and Pasco County leaders held a ceremonial groundbreaking for The Social, Angeline's newest amenity center. Metro's announcement lists a resort-style pool, pickleball courts, a tot lot and a dog park, at the corner of Sunlake Boulevard and Topsail Hill Avenue. Metro says it is coming "late next year." The post is dated September 2026, so that means late 2027.
Through the 2026 holidays and most of 2027, then, the corner of Sunlake and Topsail Hill will be an active job site, not a gathering spot. The café and the Welcome Center stay the community's shared indoor and outdoor rooms until The Social opens.
The two bigger amenities in Angeline's plan are still described in future terms. On Metro's Angeline community page, the City Center is planned for future retail, dining and entertainment, and the MetroLagoon is described as upcoming. The Angeline site calls the lagoon "upcoming" as well and describes acres of clear blue water and white sandy beaches for all residents. The site describes the City Center by category, as potential office, shopping, dining, entertainment and commercial space.
One addition that came with the groundbreaking
The Sept. 1 ceremony also launched something residents can use now. Tampa Bay Beacons reported that Metro and BayCare Health System announced the Metro x BayCare Health Care Navigator Program at the event. A care navigator will be at Angeline on a regular basis as residents' first point of contact for health and wellness questions. A registered nurse is reachable by phone, email and chat to coordinate appointments and connect residents with preventive screenings and wellness programs. BayCare's mobile health unit will also visit regularly for vaccinations, blood pressure checks, glucose testing and other screenings.
The announcement says "regularly" without a dated visit calendar. Like the Fall Festival, the practical details are likely to come through the community's own channels, not a public listing.
"Health and wellness are central to the way we design our communities," Lisa Gibbings, Metro's vice president of marketing and communications, said in the release the Beacons quoted. The navigator program and The Social were announced at the same ceremony. One starts now, and the other takes about a year to build.
Here is the rest of the year in short. The Friday music series ends Oct. 30 with the Erika Najibo Duo. The resident Fall Festival is Nov. 8, so confirm the date in Vantaca. The open holiday market is the evening of Dec. 18 at the Welcome Center. For the Fridays in between, Stillwaters Tavern and BelleBrava are side by side on Focus Loop at The Hub at Bexley.
